What Are Young Explorers

Message from our Director, Amy Harman

Every year as our graduates move on from our school, families ask me where can they can find full-time care for their school-age children (6-10 years old) in the summer. Check out our new Young Explorer program!  We will get children outside, yet continue to keep their minds sharp over summer break! In order to offer a quality program, we are limiting the enrollment to ONLY 13 Young Explorers per week.

Our goal is to be outside, exploring, learning and having fun all summer long.  Check out the list of outings we will do in our brand new school bus!  Activities range from  hiking around Boulder County, to visiting the Denver Zoo or Museum of Nature & Science.  Additionally, we will take weekly trips to our local libraries to check out books to expand our joy of reading and learning.  Our master teachers will skillfully create fun-filled STEAM and literacy lessons to engage all children  and help to keep their minds fresh throughout the summer break from school.

Our home base facility sits on 4 acres of land where children can garden, play, and participate in a great variety of activities.  We will utilize our indoor space to cool off on hot days, eat, play and to escape bad weather days.

Young Explorers is a full day program; 9 am to 4 pm.

Our limited spots are filling fast!

See you this summer!

Ms Amy

*Since we currently cannot visit libraries, Ms Sam has been able to access a wide variety of appropriate reading materials for our students!  She is excited to share her love of reading with the kids!

The goal of the Young Explorers program is to get children out and exploring their community.  Young Explorers will be in the foothills; hiking, biking, on nature walks and more!  We have a new bus with latest safety features (including integrated child seats and young adult seat belts), that will allow us to go out and explore nearly each and every day. When we are not out on an adventure we have four acres on which to build projects, create science experiments, garden, play soccer or run in the sprinklers.  On bad weather days we have an indoor facility (at our home base) to do crafts, cooking projects, as well as reading, experimenting, and learning.

We Care About Your Children

We have been working with County and State Health Officials throughout the pandemic and have been able to remain open throughout the entire COVID-19 Crisis due to our close collaboration with the Health Department and the Office of Early Childhood.   Below is a list of modifications to our program to provide best practices.  These mandates change often, therefore as things continue to change we will communicate with our families and make the appropriate changes to our program.

Class Size Is Limited to 13
